Just a couple of shots from the big day...
So, I'm now one pizza stone richer (among other things). Jamie helped me out with what to do with it ;)
Actually, this shot has nothing to do with anyone's birthday. It's just some ricotta cannoli from a patisserie that I love (in Haberfield).
If anyone ever finds a 'Blurriest Photo Competition', let me know: I'll enter this shot. The point of it is to talk up how cool the Moore College library is. How so? Well, this book is about a hundred and fifty years old. That's the oldest book I've ever had out from the library... it's a bunch of letters from some godly ol' coots during the fifteen hundreds. College has heaps of cool old books...
...and yes, the book has been very handy for my essay. I especially liked the bit where a guy (Edmund Grindal) wrote to the queen of England to tell her that he wasn't going to do what she wanted him to. And then he said, "Remember, Madam, that you are a mortal creature." (!) There's nothing like living dangerously :)

College Mission in Ulladulla
Whoa. So much to catch up on!
Right now I'm in the middle of writing an essay on the Puritans (mostly fantastic, godly folk - lived in the 1500s). But let me tell you a bit about Ulladulla.
Ulladulla is where my chaplaincy group went for mission this year. Mission is basically where we students spend a week getting alongside a church and helping them to proclaim the good news about Jesus. I guess we're 'hired help' for a week.
There were all sorts of things that we got up to. We did some preaching, we ran some school Christian groups and school assemblies, a few of us even went along to a Christian surfers brekky (a great bunch of blokes)...
One of the highlights for me was getting to know the lady who put us up for the week. Lorna, an elderly widow, was just the most delightful host for the week. It was great spending some time with a Christian who's been plodding along in the faith for decades.
On our day off, we climbed Pigeon House Mountain. Here's the lead pack:
Keith, on the left, is my chaplain (read: team leader for the mission). Suds, in the purple shirt, is one of my best mates up here in Sydney. Funnel and Jen, do you recognise Suds' t-shirt? No, it's not mine. Coincidence huh?
And here's the view from the top without everyone's mug in the way :)
We grabbed lunch at the Rainbow Pie Shop, which just happens to have a sweet shop annexed to the side of it. Suds and I got Nick some Triple Salt Dutch Licorice, which Nick spent the next few days raving about - much to our delight.
I wouldn't want to give you the impression that Mission was all holidays, surfing, and fun. But it was a good time. It was definitely great for seeing what God's up to in another (very beautiful) part of the country.
